BeatBox SoundLab: Branding for Fontys SoundLab
Developed a new brand identity for Fontys SoundLab, a creative space for sound exploration, aiming to increase student awareness and engagement. This project involved iterative logo design based on stakeholder feedback and the creation of a promotional poster, utilizing skills in branding, visual design, and stakeholder communication.
The Challenge
Fontys SoundLab faced low awareness and usage among students. The primary goal was to create a compelling brand identity that would capture attention and encourage students to utilize the SoundLab's resources.
Logo Design & Iteration
The process began with exploring diverse logo concepts to capture the essence of the SoundLab. Initial designs were presented to the stakeholder for feedback.

Refining Based on Feedback
Stakeholder feedback was crucial. While the initial direction was appreciated, the suggestion was to make the logo less "childishly chaotic." This valuable input led to a redesign, simplifying the concept by removing elements like the microphone and speaker while preserving the core identity. The iterative process ensured the design evolved effectively. See the detailed design process and feedback.

The Refined Final Logo
Promotional Poster Design
Using the final logo, a promotional poster was created with a retro/cozy aesthetic designed to resonate with the target student audience. The design integrates the "SoundLab" branding and features a subtle sheet music line connecting to the lab's audio focus. The final touch was applying an instant camera photo effect for a unique, tangible feel.
